openUI supermod
PRODUCT INFORMATION
The OpenUI SuperMod combines the simplicity of plug-n-play Virtual Modules with the versatility of DynamicTemplates and OpenUI programming to create the most advanced display module ever desiged for your Miva Merchant™ 4 store. Whether you simply want to plug-in a VMod or develop your own, this is the place to start.
Virtual Modules and the OpenUI SuperMod
Virtual Modules (also know as VMods) are mini- plug-ins for your OpenUI SuperMod, each designed to perform a small display modification or add a feature to your Miva Merchant store. VMods range in complexity from very simple tasks such as removing the weight from your product page to the extremely advanced- such as removing all purchase links from your store if the product price is zero.
Virtual modules are created by using the built-in Hook & Code Editors to interact directly with OpenUI. We provide a set of pre-made VMods to accomplish many common tasks for your store. For more information about building your own VMods, please consult the extensive OpenUI SuperMod product documentation and FAQ.
DynamicTemplates™ and the OpenUI SuperMod
We have developed a mini-scripting language for developing robust HTML and OpenUI Tokenized templates for your store. The DynamicTemplate Language provides you with the ability to create intricate screen displays that can be included anywhere in your OpenUI-enabled Miva Merchant store. The template scripting language provides looping control structures, conditional execution and the ability to call Miva Merchant API functions through the use of OpenUI Tokens.
DynamicTemplates can be used anywhere in your store. You can control where the template is included and optionally exclude standard display sections using a VMod to interact with how OpenUI displays certian portions of the screen. Templates can even include other templates, providing the ability to create a completely customized look and feel for your Miva Merchant store.
New & Custom Screens and the OpenUI SuperMod
The OpenUI SuperMod provides an automated mechanism for including new screens in your Miva Merchant store as well as overtaking the display of any existing screen in your store. Screen-based templates can be designed by using the accompanying CBS-TOKENS library that provides for display of the standard store headers, category tree and footers. To create a new screen, simply write the HTML contents of the "new" screen in a template file, name the file according to the New Screen Template naming guidelines, and it is automatically accessible through your store URL.
New screen templates can be automatically invoked through a SCREEN URL in your store. By saving a template file containing HTML and tokens to your mivadata directory named "screen.survey.tmpl", you have created a new screen accessible through your URL to Miva Merchant with the SCREEN variable set to SURVEY; ie:
http://www.yourstore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?SCREEN=SURVEY
