This is a recap of the Ultimate Social Media Tools session at SMX Advanced in Seattle that was held on June 8-9, 2010. The following tools were presented by Tony Adam, Senior Manager of Online Marketing at MySpace; except where noted otherwise.

Tools for Twitter

  • Twitter Widgets - embed your twitter feed on any web property
  • friendorfollow.com - Who is not following you back
  • untweeps - find stale twitter accounts
  • Soxialize offers Tweet Pro is an auto friend adder (I personally do not use this tool) & Twitter Profile Optimizer is exactly what the name implies; try it out
  • Hootsuite - allows you to manage multiple Twitter & Facebook accounts including scheduling posts and posting to multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Klout - produces an influence report based on your twitter followers
  • Seesmic Desktop - Update and view multiple social networks at once (similar to hootsuite).

  • FriendAdder.com - MySpace (WARNING: Do not use to spam)
  • Knowem - Register your brand quickly on 350 social media sites
  • RapLeaf - Get a report on your email list of social media participation & demographics
  • Flowtown - Take an e-mail address and get a complete social profile
  • ad.ly - Advertise on Twitter & Myspace
  • backtype - Social media engagement based on URL
