San Diego Fun & Miva Merchant Conference 2010

Posted by Miva Merchant to Ecommerce News on February 19th, 2010

The Miva Merchant conference is just days away in San Diego, California which is truly a dream destination. Make sure you reward yourself with some fun and relaxation during your visit. Today I am going to highlight some of the activities and places you may want to visit on your business trip.

Arriving Early

Arriving in San Diego before Wednesday offers both business and pleasure activities to those seeking adventure.

Online Marketing Summit: Boost your marketing skills with hands-on workshop training by top online marketing practitioners at the Online Marketing Summit taking place about 10 minutes away at Paradise Point, February 22-25.

Balboa Park: Experience the culture, history & beauty of San Diego at Balboa Park—home to 15 museums, gardens, performing arts and more. Stroll the grounds looking at flowers, fountains and art or take a museum tour, especially attractive in case we get some of our rare, but much needed winter rains.

La Jolla: Looking for some ocean views, local surfers, upscale dining or a chance to get up close & personal with seals? Head northwest for about 10 minutes to La Jolla for true fun in the sun.

During the Conference

After a full day of insights and an evening of hoopla you are either going to crash in your hotel or hit the town for a night out. For those going out, you are in for a real treat.

Historic Gaslamp District: You are 10 minutes away from being in the heart of San Diego’s night life sure to bring out your free spirit. Grab a cab or hop on the trolley to experience everything from roof top bars to dueling pianos. Or enjoy world class sushi with a chance to spot a local celebrity at Nobu.

Get Your Grub On: No doubt eating will be on your to do list so why not experience the food locals love. Seafood fanatics can check out Point Loma Seafoods or if you enjoy a great breakfast anytime night or day head to Brian’s 24. Looking for more traditional food that is closer to the conference location? Definitely try out two of my favorites, Cheesecake Factory and Joe’s Crab Shack.

Shop Til You Drop: The conference is right next to a mecca for shopaholics, Fashion Valley Mall; or head downtown to the Gaslamp District for some outdoor shopping in the multi level Horton Plaza. Even if you are just looking for tourist gifts; both locations will serve you well.

Staying Late

In case you didn’t notice, Miva Merchant CONFERENCE 2010 is over on Saturday afternoon, leaving you over half the weekend to get some last minute delights prior to jumping on a plane headed for cold weather.

Whale Watching Excursion: Head to the bay for a half day excursion of gray whale watching which is in prime season right now. This is on the ocean so bundle up; San Diego is warm…the ocean not so much.

San Diego Zoo: Visit San Diego’s world famous Zoo with pandas including a baby panda cam and a newly born Elephant. Any animal lover is going to find it very hard to resist seeing baby Pandas & elephants. Remember, there are many more animals who want your attention too. It is also adjoining Balboa Park so you can sneak over there when you tire of animals.

Circus Vargas: Looking for family fun before you leave? Enjoy a night under the big top with a spectacular acrobatic show, clowns, juggling and death defying acts. Circus Vargas is California’s own Circus!

Are you the type of person who likes to explore the local areas and nothing above sounds fun to you? Check out the official San Diego travel resource events, Sign On San Diego’s entertainment guide or the local’s favorite San Diego Reader.

I love San Diego because of all the wonderful experiences available. I hope you capitalize on this opportunity to have the time of your life. I am excited to meet all of you at this year’s conference; have fun and be safe whatever you do.
