Efficient SEO: 3 Modules That Rock

Posted by Miva Merchant to Marketing Tips on May 11th, 2010

Today I am going to share with you how to rock the search boat like a seasoned veteran. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a key marketing challenge for every online store so it is natural to wonder what modules will help the most. You can be successful at SEO without the modules listed below; it just takes a bit more time and technical know how. This post is intended to make you more efficient via modules.

Sebenza Ultimate SEO Links

Ultimate SEO Links

Take full control of your store URLs without becoming a master at htaccess files, redirects and regular expressions. Use the Ultimate SEO Links module by Sebenza to get short links with your keywords in the URLs.

Template Data Feed

You may have heard about sitemaps—that they’re good for easier navigation and helpful for better visibility by search engines. Sitemaps also offer the opportunity to inform search engines immediately about any changes on your site; and while Miva Merchant creates an HTML sitemap you still need a sitemap.xml file for Search Engines. Bill Weiland’s Template Data Feed will allow you to create a sitemap.xml file with all your Miva Merchant pages, products & categories. In addition, the module will create a feed for Google Merchant Center and any other comparison shopping engine site once configured.

SingleFeed

SingleFeed

Plan on advertising your products on multiple shopping comparison sites? Conquer shopping comparison engines with Single Feed and you can skip figuring out the proper setup necessary for Template Data Feed. The single feed module is free; however, you need a subscription plan from singlefeed.com.

Special thanks to Gillian and Jim for giving me the inspiration for this post. What modules do you use that make your SEO efforts simple & easy? Share your experience and recommended modules in the comments below.
